Sangli Fort –
You get to see a lot of places at Sangli Fort, which is built in the middle of Sangli city This fort has a big fort, museum, Ganesha temple, and Durbar hall.
In this fort, which was built during the reign of King Patvardhan, you can see a beautiful statue of Ganesha who is 175 years old. Some parts of this fort are now government offices. There are a few parts of this fort that are now used as office space.
Among the main attractions of Sangli district is the Sangli Museum. The museum charges an entry fee that is very low.
Ancient sculptures and many other items are on display in this museum which is located near the Sangli Fort. Museum hours are 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Mondays are closed.
Sangli’s Ganapati Temple is a popular tourist destination built on the bank of river Krishna. This ancient temple was built by Maharaja Chintamanrao Patvardhan of Sangli. It was built in 1845 The idol of Ganesha was installed in this temple by the king himself. He is considered the patron of Sangli.
Sangli’s Dandoba Hills is a scenic spot located 30 km from Sangli. It is located in the village of Bhose. At the top of this hill you will find a temple of Lord Shiva. This temple is ancient, and a Shivlinga is seated inside a natural cave.

The Chandoli National Park is located in Satara Kolhapur Ratnagiri Dist. This National Park was created in 2004 and covers 31767 square kilometers.
The Chandoli Dam is a major tourist attraction in Sangli. It is also known as the Basant Sagar Reservoir.
Located on the Varuna river, this dam is spread over a very large area. You can reach Chandauli by bus, car, or motorbike.
During the rainy season, you can see the best view of the dam. There are four gates in the dam. Here, you can see a breathtaking view of the forest and mountains.
The Machindranath Fort is a major historical site in Sangli. It is located on the highway between Sangli and Karad. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj built this fort on a high hill in 1676. Inside this fort is the Shiva temple, Machindranath Mahadev.
